A sneak peak from a beautiful wedding that I shot in the Valley. Congratulations Melissa and Kevin!

Coincidentally, today also happens to be the day when Audrey’s umbilical chord fell off, which means it’s time to don her water melon swim suite and hit the pool! Here’re some of my favs from the party and her spending her very first dip in the pool with  dad.

Big congratulations to my great friends Virginia and Chris on their very first newborn. Welcome home Audrey! We’ve been waiting for you for quite some time now. Even though you were late, you were fashionably late so all is forgiven.

One of my dearest friends from college recently had a baby a few weeks back and I was lucky enough to visit baby Audrey on her birthday, which was about a week later than we all had expected. We tried everything to get her out on her due date. From hiking to eating extra spicy Indian food, but man was she persistent. Took a little extra patience, but I’m glad to say that we’ve got a beautiful bundle of joy for both Chris and Virginia as well as the first official addition to my close group of friends.

Steven aka Mr. “I’m frikin awesome” from Splendid Studios invited me out as his second shooter for Aaron and Juliet’s wedding.  We shot at the gorgeous L’Auberge Del Mar on a belated June gloom day in July. Luckily, the weather opened up, the clouds parted, “God rays” shot down from the skies, the seas calmed (ok not really) and everything went off without a hitch.

I’m beginning to think that the San Diego area has an affinity for me. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting weddings down there in the past and this last wedding was just as enjoyable.  A lovely young bride, charming groom and a bunch of fellow shutter bugs sealed the deal to make this wedding smooth as silk. You guys were a blast to shoot! All the best.

I like to think that I come prepared for weddings, but when the groomsmen start to talk to you about your gear, you know you’ve got at least a third shooter waiting to pull out their camera. Time to bust out the cameras guys and show them how it’s done. Like how one of them’s compensating for the iPad’s lack of a camera?

Hopefully, I’ll be fortunate enough to shoot another lovely couple at another gorgeous location down in the San Diego area soon. Until then, stay tuned for my next wedding in the Los Angeles area in about a month!

I love San Diego. It’s my go to place for a mini vacation at the hip Gas Lamp district, great food at Oceannaire Seafood Room and amazing desserts at Extraordinary Desserts. So when I got invited out by the awesome Elisa from Ahlin Photography to help shoot a wedding in Balboa Park on a beautiful San Diego afternoon, it was a no brainer.

I was fortunate enough to be invited out by the awesome Lily Stein of Lily Stein Photography to second shoot one of her first weddings of the year. The timing couldn’t have been any more perfect since this wedding was scheduled right after a huge downpour. True to California fashion, the sun came up for another perfect Southern California day.

You can’t really tell from the below photo, but I was walking through mud in my slacks and dress shoes on the other side of the pond trying to avoid falling into the water from a muddy rock AND carrying both my 24-70 f2.8 + 70-200 f2.8 IS! Add that to the list of things you can’t learn in photo school.
